What does "Optimized for FCP" mean? - 16 years agoIn FCP 5 sometimes when importing a DV or AVI clip that I didn't import directly in to FCP via firewire, I'll get a dialogue box saying something like, "this clip not optimized for FCP, use media manager to optimize". What does that mean and how do I use media manager to do this? Since I can't figure out how to do this, the video plays jerky in the timeline. Thanks, Frankby Frank Lozano - Café LA FCP 5 start up really slow - 16 years agoFolks - What's going on inside FCP when you start it up that may cause it to take 3-4 minutes to open? This happens even after trashing preferences and even when my last project doesn't automatically open. How would you solve combining dissimilar sequences? Thanks, Frankby Frank Lozano - Café LA Re: Dropouts! What's your best trick to deal with them? - 16 years agoYes thank you Joe. I'm just collecting nuggets right now but it's highly likley I will use your solution sometime soon since I just work in DV. In fact, I have tried moving in to a clip further, well away from the start, and still the transition won't take. It's like the clip is corrupted in some way, maybe dropped frames or something. In any case I am usually forced to abandon my first cut choice. Andy Neil Wrote: --------by Frank Lozano - Café LA Re: Bird in Motion - 16 years agoThank you Tom. Can I do this if I have a clip of a bird where the background has been keyed out? Can I build this in another application and import? Thanks, Frankby Frank Lozano - Motion Re: OfflineRT Help - 16 years agoShane, Can you help? After using Media Manager to make offline clips I created a multiclip and rough edited, then used MM to reconnect the edited sequence to the full rez clips. It appears as though the clips were restored to full rez but not the edited multiclip. MM created a copy of the sequence and I opend that in the timeline, but it doesn't appear I'm seeing a full rez edited sequenby Frank Lozano - Café LA OfflineRT Help - 16 years agoI created offline clips by the book (Apple manual) using media manager and I can't set my sequence properties to match to get rid of the red render bar in the timeline. What is a good low rez conversion in Compressor to reduce file size on these clips, based on needing to reconnect to high rez originals later?
