A red logo which has nice clean edges in the viewer gets a nasty looking grey shadowy edge in the canvas sequence format is DvcProHD 720p50 - 960x720 - 25fps lots of alternative sequences tried e.g. Animation, ProRes etc same problem also tried different original formats for theby paurray - Café LA Re: RED background in viewer for texts!?!!? - 15 years agothanks Michael for the tip as I said you guys are wonderful all the best for 2009 you are welcome any time in Berlinby paurray - Café LA Re: RED background in viewer for texts!?!!? - 15 years agothanks guys I never had this one before & it was really bothering me inherited the project from someone else who obviously made a mistake the View > Channels > RGB was really set to RGB and not Alpha & RGB so I went and trash my preferences and every thing is hunky dory searched the forum for RED and didn´t find anything also maybe I am really stupid but when Iby paurray - Café LA RED background in viewer for texts!?!!? - 15 years agoHi, hi am a little bit worried about the RED background that is appearing in my viewer! when working with texts on a background!?!?!?!! it´s only RED when I am not playing the timeline i.e. I am parked on a frame and everything looks fine on my Reference monitor whether I am playing or parked am I being paranoid or is this weird? but RED usually means danger, right? iby paurray - Café LA Re: OT : best no compromise, import from a CD? - 15 years agomany thanks to all of you you have given me a lot of food for thought sometimes out of the world stuff is really ordinary one thing is pretty certain at the center of the "out-of-this-world importer" is going to be an antique Yamaha CD Rom Drive a fellow Hi Fi freak has 4 of them, just in case...... don´t know what they cost but it´s probably possible to pick one up atby paurray - Café LA Re: OT : best no compromise, import from a CD? - 15 years agothe point of the exercise is to get the best quality audio that is why I wanted to avoid using iTunes to import the music as such this is why I am looking at options such as direct from their site "It works with a technology, which reads audio CDs almost perfectly. ONLY ;-) 3 questions now.... 1) where the hell is the option for importing the data base stuff only have gone through the preferences & menus but haven´t seen anything, mby paurray - Café LA Re: OT : best no compromise, import from a CD? - 15 years agohi nick I know it´s crazy but Hi Fi freaks are sick I have serious discussions with friends about different cables, feet for the amplifier etc and needless to say I have been filtering my electricity for years!!! Even had a battery run amplifier until I fried it!!! And, yes I suspect that I will find a better method am looking at other stuff as well e.g. which works onby paurray - Café LA Re: OT : best no compromise, import from a CD? - 15 years agothanks for the feed back guys no worries I wouldn´t dream of using that little phone socket I will be going USB to a thing called a DAC, Digital Audio Converter something like this...... following Jeff amazingly simple strategy works great but inside iTunes when I import the folder, iTunes organizes the files for me no problem I thought in the advanced setting I can turn ofby paurray - Café LA Re: OT : best no compromise, import from a CD? - 15 years agoHi Jeff That sounds like a great idea. Just drag the file in there. No Sorcery ;-) Obviously being Apple it works. Having opened the files in iTunes, the name of the track is there, but no album name & no artist name is there.... But suspect that it is hopeless. Thanks all the same Joey. Another weird thing is that when I pull the plug for the digital monitor I suddenly get a "No signal" message. As if tby paurray - Café LA OT cinema display weirdness - 15 years agoHi All I have a cinema display which I have been using for years with my laptop. It´s one of those old plastic 23 inch things. Guess that it is about 5 years old. The best investment I ever made. I have it connected to my laptop and use it as my main display for FCP & Co. One day about 2 months ago I no longer got a picture on my cinema display. The area where I lost the most points was weirdly enough editing. Noticed that there is a "smooth point tool"!!!! Tried useing this but with no success. But there are a couple of things which I don´t understand. This setting is not a preset in compressor? So I guess that this means that I have to make the setting? Yeah?
