I left a project last night, closed Motion, and shut down my G5 Quad (12gb RAM). When I came back to the computer and tried to get back in to the project Motion would not start. Can't figure out why not. Trashed prefs, restarted, software update, etc. but nothing...any ideas? running MacPro G5 Quad, 12gb RAM, FCP Studio 6by chris rust - Motion SAP - 14 years agoAloha, Has anyone out there had any experience with SAP? I need to know how to get one program out with two (selectable) different languages. What else do I need to know about exporting SAP? The plan is to shoot 1080P30 -- now that I have something to look at, which of these import settings should I use. I saw in the video that you can use XDCAM Transfer to ingest -- I don't understand whby chris rust - Café LA Looking for a good page turn - 14 years agoAloha, I'm looking for a good page turn effect. Ideally, I'd like for the page to turn in the middle of the image (which is a magazine spread) and lay flat -- not fly off the screen. Any suggestions? I used to just select "DVD Best Quality 90 minutes"--"MPEG-2 6.2 Mbps 2-pass" and let it go--everything was cool. Now, I select the same thing and when I import assets to DVD Studio I--either get the "incompatible format" msg or I get only video--no audio. Not sure wby chris rust - DVD Studio Pro Re: can you 'shake' the camera in FCP? - 17 years agoNattress' Big Box o Tricks has a couple of filters that do a great job--don't abuse your shooter!by chris rust - Café LA how do I link my computers together? - 17 years agoAloha, I've heard a lot lately about using more than one computer to expedite rendering/processing. I have my Mac G5 Quad with 7GB ram and a G4 laptop. Anything to get my stuff done faster... Is it possible to connect the two computers? How do you do it? Is it worth the hassle? Or should I just go make a sandwich while the one computer does its thing? Any responses would be greatly aby chris rust - Café LA Re: how should I shoot a sunrise? - 17 years agoLOL, Of course I could at least create a sunrise in Motion, but I like to do things the hard way. Shorts and flip flops won't cut it at Mauna Kea--at 14000' it's a bit chilly, even in March. The reason for shooting up there is because you get a great view of the earth's curvature and a sunrise from above the clouds is awesome! Wish me luck. I'll be shooting with two Z1s and a Nikon D200-by chris rust - Café LA Re: how should I shoot a sunrise? - 17 years agoAloha Randy, Thanks for your suggestions. A couple of questions though... Since my Nikon D200 has its own time-lapse settings, why would I want to trigger through Capture on my laptop? Second, what frame rate would you suggest? Thanks, Chris Rustby chris rust - Café LA how should I shoot a sunrise? - 17 years agoAloha, I'm planning on a sunrise shoot at the top of Mauna Kea. I'm using the HVR-Z1U, HDV, 16X9. I'm looking for some tips on how to get the best shot possible. I plan to roll from dark--pre-sunrise and burn an hour reel. Do you have any suggestions? Should I use the built-in ND filter (1 or 2), or should I use my Schneider polarizer, or should I just roll and not use anything?by chris rust - Café LA Re: Import template from IDVD to DVDSP - 18 years agoAloha, Saw your post--how do you transfer the template from iDVD? I read your response and tried saving to a file on my desktop, then importing to DVDSP--I got a msg saying that "Could not import one file". From what you said in your post, it would seem that you should be able to open the template in the viewer, save it as...whatever, then import to DVDSP. Is that the process?by chris rust - DVD Studio Pro dvd templates - 18 years agoAloha, Has anyone ever tried to take the templates from iDVD and bring them into DVD Studio Pro? I hadn't even given iDVD a look until recently and found that the templates are actually really nice--and way more user friendly than those in DVD Studio Pro. I can't seem to figure out how to bring those in and use them.by chris rust - DVD Studio Pro |
