DVD Studio Pro won't burn DVD - 12 years agoI'm having trouble with DVD Studio Pro. Once I've created a DVD and simulated it, when I try to burn a DVD it won't work. Any ideas? Thanks, LD Thompsonby ldthompson - DVD Studio Pro Re: Firewire not recognized - 16 years agoThanks for that link. I thought it might be helpful but as it is I haven't upgraded anything. I have Tiger 10.4.10 and my QuickTime is 7.2 FCP is 5.1.4 Is there anything else you can think of. The cables are both firmly in place. It's a brand new cable. ??? LD Thompsonby ldthompson - Café LA Re: Firewire not recognized - 16 years agoI did as you suggested ...switched to Firewire NTSC, turned camera on VCR mode and plugged in the Firewire before launching FCP. Still got the same dialogue box 'unable to locate external device'. Any other suggestions? Thanks, LDby ldthompson - Café LA Re: Firewire not recognized - 16 years agoYeah, it's in the VTR mode and in the Easy Setup menu it's set to Firewire NTSC Basic.by ldthompson - Café LA Firewire not recognized - 16 years agoI just got a new MacBook Pro and am trying to log and capture from my Panasonic DVX100a but FCP keeps not recognizing the Firewire connection. What's up with that? LDTby ldthompson - Café LA Full Screen Viewing - 16 years agoWhenever I select full screen viewing nothing happens ...? Any ideas why it's not activating? Thanks, LD Thompsonby ldthompson - Café LA Re: Extracting a clip from a DVD - 16 years agoOkay. I downloaded HandBrake. Ripped the DVD. Now I can't find it anywhere. Any clues or am I SOL? Thanks, LDby ldthompson - Café LA Re: Extracting a clip from a DVD - 16 years agoOkay, thanks for those responses. HandBrake looks like a good option. Would you happen to know ...if I choose to simply record from my DVD player to my Panasonic DVX100a using S-video cable does transmit audio too or do I need to jack audio in separately. I know this is very basic, so please forgive my ignorance. Thanks LD Thompsonby ldthompson - Café LA Extracting a clip from a DVD - 16 years agoCan I extract a clip from a DVD for use in FCP? Thanks, LD Thompsonby ldthompson - Café LA Audio Playback - 18 years agoWhen I'm logging and capturing my audio comes through the speakers just fine. When I switch to the timeline, I only hear my audio through the puny G5 speaker. Is there some setting I have to change? Do I have to turn the DSR 11 deck off? What's the deal? L.D.Thompsonby ldthompson - Café LA Re: 24p - 18 years agoI've skimmed your article. It's great. I will read in depth when I have the luxury. If I understand correctly, the Easy Setup should be set to DV-NTSC and that's it. Reading further in your article, I came across info which I will probably need at a later date about output from this editing configuration. I will want to be creating DVDs to send out for film festivals. Thanks again, LD Thompsonby ldthompson - Café LA 24p - 18 years agoI shot all my footage in 24p on a Panasonic DVX100a. I am editing in Final Cut Studio. Do I need to do anything special with the footage since it's 24p? L.D. Thompsonby ldthompson - Café LA Re: Letterbox - 18 years agoThanks, I'll give that a go and see how it looks. LDby ldthompson - Café LA Letterbox - 18 years agoI shot all of my footage on a Panasonic DVX100a in 24p (in Afghanistan, mind you). I did not use letterbox but I masked my LCD so that my framing would be appropriate for editing with theatrical release in mind. Is there something I should now do while I'm logging and capturing so that the framing I intended is what I'm working with? Or is it later on in the process that I make some sort of adjusby ldthompson - Café LA Re: Two computer monitors - 18 years agoGot it. The cursor is, in fact, able to move from one to the next like one big monitor. What a relief. Thanks, LDby ldthompson - Café LA Re: Two computer monitors - 18 years agoThanks again! Okay, so they are definitely hooked up and I have every reason to believe that the monitor card supports dual desktop as it's what I was sold (from CMP). I get to the dialogue box for 'Arrangement' - 'mirror' is unchecked but I'm still not clear how to then arrange for some of the data to appear on the other monitor. I can move the two monitor icons around but moving, say, the viewby ldthompson - Café LA Two computer monitors - 18 years agoI have two computer monitors with my G5. I want to have it set up so that some of the information is on one and some on the other. Right now it's all on one monitor. How do I configure so that the two monitors split the load. L.D. Thompsonby ldthompson - Café LA FCP Studio - where to install - 18 years agoI am just setting up my edit suite. I have a brand new G5 and I elected to install FCP on the hard drive that has the larger block of memory rather than on the additional hard drive I had installed which has a smaller amount of memory. Does it matter? Would it be better to have put it on the additional hard drive?by ldthompson - Café LA |
