At present I am editing on a Dual 2.5Ghz Mac with Tiger 10.411 with FCP 6.02 We have both a Kona 2 and an aja io in the setup, with the Huge System 2x 1.2TB drives connected to a UL4D PCI-X SCSI controller for the Huge Arrays. In leau of rebuilding the arrays (which have 10 drives a piece x$200 a drive) I was thinking to replace the UL4D with this and the Huge Arrays with thisby mark@avolution - Café LA

Did the render mode change colour, to show that an effect had been added? In 1993, I also used an SVHS frame accurate recorder to record my 3d Studio Dos version 2 or 3? from a targa 16 board from the Video Controller built into 3d Studio. It wuold preroll the tape deck, record one frame, advance a frame, prerol, etc... It was cool for the time!by mark@avolution - Café LA

If I am forced to re-edit a DVD, I always ensure I go to the timeline with ProRes, so at least it will mitigate some of the generation loss. I have been rendering some R&D animations in 21:9 aspect ratio, which is basically 25% wider than the now standard 16:9 aspect ratio. I am curious as to how popular the 21:9 aspect ratio might become, because it seems that most recording devices and projection devices are 16:9, present day. You beat me to it. We did the same thing for a casino back in 02' for vertically orientated 16:9 TVs. A problem is that most "internet" is ADSL, which means fast downloads but slow uploads. Until a pure Synchronous DSL is offered, the "Cloud" does not offer much benefit. Any PC editor with Premeire worth his salt should have the QT 7 with ProRes support. Well, if they killed FCP Studio, they also may have killed any reason for people to buy a high end tower as well. Sometimes software sales drive hardware sales. Just a thought. That is strange. we send FCP 6 QT ProRes 422 out to our PC with CS4 Sute all the time. Do you have the latest "patch" for QT PC, that allows for QT ProRes Ingest? So there is no direct way from this forum to upload a photo. Thanks, and I should of searched for screen not screengrab, else I would have found it. Not to mention all the new Mac sales Apple is going to lose. We still have a G5 Dual with FCP 6 and Tiger. With FCPX being the new Coke I have recommended that we think about going Adobe Premiere on an i7 PC. So that would count as a lost sale to Apple!
