Re: How to shrink a 100 minute movie in COMPRESSOR 2 and end up with a 4.0 GB MPEG 2 - 18 years agoWhat settings in compressor did you use?by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: Free capture sync issue - 18 years agoYou may need a TBC (Time base corrector) This can often happen with analog formats such as VHS and hi8, on long clips.by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: Is there such thing as a quiet RAID - 18 years agoShane, I guess you didn't notice my at the end of the post. Sorry just my sense of humor. My 320 gb G-Raid is very quiet, I barely notice it's on.by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: Apply same TransX in timeline - 18 years agoGo into your effects tab in the browser and select the transition you want to use. Go up to Effects in the drop down menu and select "set default". Go into the timeline and select all the clips you want to add the trasition to and make sure the playhead is parked at the beginning of the clips. Then you grab all the clips in the timeline and dgrag them into the canvas and let go of the mby Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: Is there such thing as a quiet RAID - 18 years agoHey? I cant hear you I've got my G-Raid on!by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: Audio Nightmare Help - 18 years agoFrom what you have described this sounds like it is a "pull down" problem. You state your sequence is 1080i50 but was this shot on film and transferred to HD or did it originate on HD? Also to find out how much the audio needs to be pullled down you will have to line up a clip reference track with a dat track and work out what the percentage difference in speed is. What sort of dat machby Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: Timecode on Audio track - 18 years agoTimecode recorded on an audio track is just that, audio. You can put it anywhere you can put audio. You ask if you can "get the timecode from the audio track". Well that depends on where you want to get it to, what sort of camera it was recorded on, what sort of deck you are playing back from. More info is needed about what you are trying to achieve with that timecode.by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: Capturing Issues With FCP 5.0 - 18 years agoIm your system settings did you check to see that you don't have a ckeck mark beside the "Limit capture/export file size to......mb" setting?by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: and the winner is... - 18 years ago<grouped as stereo and panned center...somehow cancelling each other out (phase issue?).> 2 mono tracks have a habit of doing that! There is no reason to copy and paste one track. If it is mono just leave it on one track panned center and then place any stereo files on 2 seperate tracks.by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: mystifying audio problem - 18 years agoAre you sure the clips are actually stereo? In the timeline try muting one of the tracks at a time and see if the other plays with the same problem.by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: MiniDV/DigiBeta Pipeline? - 18 years agoYeah it would be neat if you could set your input in FCP to Firewire DV/NTSC and your playback to the AJA Io/Kona 2/ Decklink or whatever and then just open the log and capture window and have the video and audio pass right through without having to actually capture the footage in FCP. Perhaps apple could make this a feature in a future version.by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: MiniDV/DigiBeta Pipeline? - 18 years agoIf you were given the Mini DV player of choice to accomplish a copy to Digibeta via SDI, why not just get a DV player with SDI out like a DSR1500a or DSR1800 and go direct to Digibeta via SDI? Seems like a lot of extra work the other way.by Frank Nolan - Café LA Re: audio mix w/soundtrack pro - 18 years agoHi Lisha, I am fairly new to FCP and STP. However I am an experienced protools user and having worked on hundreds of shows for broadcast I am very curious to see what STP can do. So far I like what I see, although it gets frustrating sometimes trying to do things I know I can do in protools but cant do in STP. But I think that is more a case of like an editor switching from Avid to FCPby Frank Nolan - Café LA |
