Sharing project files with FCPX ? - 12 years agoHi everyone, I just have what I hope is a quick/easy question about FCPX - is it possible to share just the project file without any media? For example, I work internationally where we have media in different countries and then just share between ourselves the FCP project file and relink media. Sometimes, an editor also might open up a FCP project and leave the media as missing to work only on tby duff - Café LA - X Re: Combining two already editing sequences of different framerates - 13 years agothanks Nick ... these are short films that for some reason were originally edited in different framerates. They now need to be put together into a long form film and output at 29.97. Will try it the way you suggested. Cheersby duff - Café LA Combining two already editing sequences of different framerates - 13 years agoHey everyone - thanks in advance for the help. We've got two sequences that were edited a long time ago, one 25fps and one 29.97fps. Now we need to combine them both into a 29.97 sequence. If we simply copy and paste from the 25 into the 29.97 everything that is pasted goes out of time. Big gaps between clips, missing clips, and audio clips are slipped. Both sequences are made up of variouby duff - Café LA Re: Colour Space workflow ... EX3 -> FCP -> AE -> FCP -> Web - 13 years agoI export the AE render back into FCP so I can lay down the final audio mix, present to client/directors, final broadcast check before outputting. Also, depending on the project maybe not the entire film has gone through AE.by duff - Café LA Re: Colour Space workflow ... EX3 -> FCP -> AE -> FCP -> Web - 13 years agothanks for this advice - I will try these settings and let you know the results. Cheersby duff - Café LA Colour Space workflow ... EX3 -> FCP -> AE -> FCP -> Web - 13 years agoHi everyone ... I had some issues recently with using different codecs and noticing colour shifts in my footage. I was hoping someone could suggest a workflow to produce best results in terms of colour space and retaining colour information. Our workflow is as follows: Shoot EX3 and 5D -> transcode all footage to ProRes422 -> edit in FCP with a ProRes Sequence set to "Render 10bit mby duff - Café LA Workflow for 6 track WAV field audio - 13 years agoHi everyone - I'm not very proficient in STP and was hoping to get some workflow advice to point me in the right direct. We are editing with a 6 track audio file from the field (each track has an seperate mic on it). Now I want to be able to edit each channel seperately in STP - however when I go to edit the file I can't seem to find out how to break up the 6 channels. Any advice on how I shoulby duff - Soundtrack Pro Converting EX3 1080i60 to 1080i50 - is this the best way? - 14 years agoHi everything - this is sort of a follow on question from a post I wrote a while ago ... Firstly a more specific question: I always thought it was better to down convert frame rates ie 29.97 to 25 is better than the other way ... but I just read the opposite. Can someone confirm which is the better way to convert? (aside from broadcast requirements etc etc) So anyways - I do need to converby duff - Café LA Re: Mixing different formats - Best settings for sequence? - 14 years agothanks for all the help - I have so so much footage that I think it is best I will just edit at a low quality settting and then only convert the footage I actually use in the edit. Cheersby duff - Café LA Re: Mixing different formats - Best settings for sequence? - 14 years agothanks for the help so far, much appreciated. Our main camera for this project was our EX3 - part way through the project we needed to use a smaller miniDV as a 2nd unit (almost entirely b-roll). We had already been shooting at 1080i60 on the EX3, but the miniDV was only PAL. For now these are only being 'broadcast' online. So - using a ProRes sequence at 25fps is a bad idea? I thought maybby duff - Café LA Mixing different formats - Best settings for sequence? - 14 years agoHi everyone, Just a quick question you may be able to help me with. I'm wondering what is the most efficient and best quality setting to have my sequence set to when I am mixing XDCAM EX 30Mbps 1080i60 footage with HDV 1080i50 footage. Currently I just set it to which ever I have the most clips for that sequence, but mostly it's pretty much half of each. Any advice much appreciated! thanksby duff - Café LA |
