Workflow Question - 14 years agoI'm beginning the post audio stage on a 90minute film cut in FCP6. We're too poor for ProTools so we're using Soundtrack Pro. Yipeee! The film is on an edit bay at the production office. The media drives don't leave the office but I'd love to do some chunks of work at home on my own system. How can I do this and successfully conform home-changes the next day to the "master" FCP or STby lcheadle - Soundtrack Pro dvx & hvx 24pa mis-match - 15 years agoTwo camera band set shoot. A cam used dvx100b squeeze 24pa B cam used hvx200 set to dv, squeeze, supposedly 24pa. Captured NTSC anamorphic advanced pulldown removal 23.98 timeline. A cam looks great! B cam not so good. Every fourth frame is dupe of the preceeding frame. Does this mean B cam shot 24p, not pa? What's the fix? Cinema tools? Edit 29.97 timeline instead and recapture A cam @ NTby lcheadle - Café LA Compressor formula - 17 years agoInstead of trial and error and waiting long periods of time, is there a way to calculate how large of a movie file each different compressor will make?by lcheadle - DVD Studio Pro Sequence codec presets? - 17 years agoWhat is the deal with selecting a compressor in your sequence settings? How does that effect what compressor you select upon exporting? As an example... if I desire making a h264 QT movie file for web purposes should I select that compressor as the sequence preset? Can compressors mess up the picture when they get mixed up? I've extensivey searched these forums and DVXusers' forums for solid &amby lcheadle - Café LA Re: Magic Bullet Crash - 17 years agoDVX100b, 24p I think cutting the rendering down into smaller chunks is helping. I lose the luxury of "setting and forgetting" large sections at a time. Perhaps it's a sign that I'm applying too much MB filter. BTW How's the LAFCPUG meeting video back log?by lcheadle - Café LA Magic Bullet Crash - 17 years agoI have attempted rendering Magic Bullet effects into my music video but the computer crashes every time. Any suggestions on how to work around this obvious processing limitation?by lcheadle - Café LA Video of Tonights Meeting? - 17 years agoI have to work tonight and won't make the meeting. Is there anyone willing to sell my a copy of their video coverage of tonights meeting? THANK YOU!!!!by lcheadle - Café LA Noisey G-Raid - 17 years agoA little survey for my sanity: Are all G-Raid drives as noisey as mine? Works great but the noises bum me out!by lcheadle - Café LA Re: Adobe AfterEffect? - 17 years agoThank you guys for the responses. I'm itching to pull off effects like that. My next step would be to purchase Adobe Photoshop & AE, right? Is there a particular software bundle or alternatives to Adobe I should look at before spending all that money?by lcheadle - Café LA Adobe AfterEffect? - 17 years ago@ 0:26 what is that freeze-frame effect? Is it Adobe AE? Post Edited (07-15-06 19:23)by lcheadle - Café LA Re: 800mb Firewire woes - 17 years agoMelrose Mac says it's the logic board and it needs to be replaced. I'm happy that it is still under warranty. The same thing happened to my buddy that bought a quad from Melrose Mac Burbank.by lcheadle - Café LA Re: 800mb Firewire woes - 17 years agoHey Aaron- I'm a step, or rather, a hop or two ahead of you. I do have a second fw800 drive and it behaved exactly the same. I've also tested the G-Raid on my buddy's G5... no problems. All my cables test okay. I bit the bullet and took my G5 to Melrose Mac for service yesterday and they were great. btw... Bomb It looks cool! You need any camera people? Thanksby lcheadle - Café LA Re: 800mb Firewire woes - 17 years agoOuch! Bad port! That's what I'm afraid of. I have Apple Care but have never implimented the coverage. I bought my G5 five months ago at Melrose Mac. Any suggestions on the process? I'm definately going to have separation anxiety. Thanks for your guidanceby lcheadle - Café LA Re: 800mb Firewire woes - 17 years agoSame problem happens when I hook up with my LaCie via 800firewire: Choppy video (looks like over-crank) and no audio.by lcheadle - Café LA Re: 800mb Firewire woes - 17 years agoI thought I formatted the drive properly. G-Raid info window says "Format: OS Extended"by lcheadle - Café LA 800mb Firewire woes - 17 years agoI bought a 500gig G-Raid. Plugged into my G5 2.3dual via 800firewire. Doesn't work with FCP5. All video captured plays back choppy without audio. Everything works fine when I use a 400mb firewire connection. I successfully did audio stuff with Logic using the 800 connection to the G-Raid so it probably isn't a hardware problem. Is there a preference setting in FCP that could help me? Thanks? btwby lcheadle - Café LA Re: 4.5G RAM & still getting DropFrame Error - 17 years agoI'm using a LaCie 250GB hard drive.by lcheadle - Café LA Re: 400 vs. 800Mb - 17 years agoNo USB. Maybe my LaCie is a piece of crap like many others.by lcheadle - Café LA 400 vs. 800Mb - 17 years agoWhy does a 400Mb connection to my LaCie external drive work when an 800Mb one doesn't? With 800Mb connection my captured clips played back too fast and without audio.by lcheadle - Café LA 4.5G RAM & still getting DropFrame Error - 17 years agoI just added 2G for a total of 4.5G on my G5 Dual 2.3 w/FCP5 to avoid getting that dropped frame error window. I made all the adjustments it recommended and it still persists. Do I have to set a preference to utilize the new RAM?by lcheadle - Café LA |
