Re: Promise Pegasus RAID Storage with Thunderbolt - 10 years agoI purchased an R4 8TB unit along with a 27" imac and Retina MBP in December/January. The unit was a simple plug & play and has been stellar at keeping up with live capture of 1080i prores files through our BlackMagic Ultra Studio 3D SDI capture, until Monday when I noticed Drive 1 had failed. It's been a while since I've had to author a DVD, but was just thrown a small project requiring a bit of menu work. I still have DVD Studio Pro... but with it's apparent demise... what program should I be evaluating? Thanks!by Steven Forster - Café LA - X Re: Digital8 audio out of sync - 11 years agoI have had this problem with Digital 8 if there were timecode breaks (start stop). Drove me batty as it was one of those freebee favor jobs that I ended up spending way too much time on because I couldn't capture the whole tape. Just capture around the breaks if there are any.by Steven Forster - Café LA - X Re: Help with removing static please? - 11 years agoNot to get too into the laws with this Finra... but do you actually "own" the copyright to the piece? Not just purchasing the actual CD, but the music itself with permission to use it. If not... NO... it is NOT legal... doesn't matter what form the media comes from. There are a lot of people that use similar tracks for "temp" music in their productions, but that's all itby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: Help with removing static please? - 11 years agoThat sounds like file corruption of some sort. You MIGHT be able to fix that with CEDAR or another high end system... I'm an old Sonic Solutions user from way back... but that's not a cheap or easy proposition. I do use it on all of my machines for different reasons. Mostly for running PowerPoint in a Windows environment (because of some cross platform incompatibilities), but I've played with some swf conversion programs & Wirecast. Using the Aja System Test... the video partition does a Read/Write test at a consistent 55 MB/s while the main partition with programs etc., is around 111 MB/s.
