Re: IMPORTING MUSIC FROM ITUNES - 17 years agoYee Haw -- That worked. Thanks Scott and everybody.by shelleyrae - Café LA Re: IMPORTING MUSIC FROM ITUNES - 17 years agoMy import options preferences are set to convert to .aiff upon importing, but it still imported it as a protected AAC file. When I burned a CD of it, it changed it to a .m4p (or is that the same thing?) I've tried re-importing it from the CD back into Itunes thinking that since my preferences are set to convert to aiff upon importing that it would work, but nope.by shelleyrae - Café LA Re: IMPORTING MUSIC FROM ITUNES - 17 years agoI did burn a CD. It won't let me convert it. The file on the burned CD is a .m4p. I tried reimporting it into Itunes hoping it would convert it to an aiff since that is what my preferences for importing are set to -- but no luck.by shelleyrae - Café LA Re: IMPORTING MUSIC FROM ITUNES - 17 years agoI burned a CD and imported back into Itunes and tried to convert it and still got the "Cannot convert because file is protected" message. Am I missing a step? Also can you please explain the process for the second option? I have a G4 laptop and a G5 Quad. Thanks.by shelleyrae - Café LA IMPORTING MUSIC FROM ITUNES - 17 years agoHi, I downloaded a song from Itunes to use as a temp track to cut to but apparently all the songs in the Itunes music store are protected files and can't be converted. Is there any way around this? I don't want to buy the entire album to use one song. Thanksby shelleyrae - Café LA Re: Dupe Detection - 18 years agoHow do I use the color label feature to keep track of used clips? I tried clicking on the clip in the time line and apple option 1 and didn't get a contextual menu for color options. Can you explain how to do this? Thanksby shelleyrae - Café LA Re: Dupe Detection - 18 years agoYes, I do have a friend with an Avid. But how does that help?by shelleyrae - Café LA Re: Dupe Detection - 18 years agoYes. I have a lot of subclips that I'm working with. Maybe thats be the problem? As I stated earlier, I do dupe detection turned on in preferences wit 15 frame handles. Also wondering if there is an easy way to keep track of clips that you have used? I'm working with 3.5 hours of video that I have categogerized in several bins. I'm doing multiple sequences and have been putting an asterick nby shelleyrae - Café LA Re: Dupe Detection - 18 years agoHave not ever worked in HD. Maybe it's a software flaw? Always reluctant to admit an operational error -- ha ha. Signed, the proud and egotistical FCP novice, Shelleyraeby shelleyrae - Café LA Re: Dupe Detection - 18 years agoYes, did all that. Still nothing. Performed several tests. Okay, I'm really dumb and need serious one-on-one attention or this just doesn't work for some reason with my setup?by shelleyrae - Café LA Re: Easy Audio Transitions? - 18 years agoShane, Nick and Loren, (and Mike Horton) Thank you for your quick responses. These are all very helpful suggestions that have already made my editing life easier. I have all the manuals and tutorials that came with FCSP and first try to find my answers in the the provided materials...But some very specific questions are not easily found. What a blessing to be able to talk to seasoned FCP edby shelleyrae - Café LA Dupe Detection - 18 years agoI would like to be able to see when I have used a clip more than once in a sequence. I have dupe detection turned on and set the handles for 15 frames, but I'm still not seeing anything obvious that ndicates duplicate frames. In AVID you could set it up so that the entire clip would be a different color than the rest of the timeline whenever you had a duplicate clip. Is there a way to do thisby shelleyrae - Café LA Easy Audio Transitions? - 18 years agoIs there an easy way to add fade ups and downs within the FCP sequence without having to go to Soundtrack Pro? I've been adding keyframes on the overlays and manually dipping up and down but this is cumbersome. In Avid you can add a video dissolve to quickly fade up or down. Is there an easier way in FCP?by shelleyrae - Café LA Adjusting audio levels before capturing - 18 years agoI'm trying to adjust my audio levels in the capture clip setting windows. I need to raise the gain before I start capturing but the gain slider and input channel selections are grayed out. I can hear the audio and see the meter moving but am unable to adjust the gain. Why is this?by shelleyrae - Café LA Re: Playback Problems - 18 years agoHi derekmok & others, I have been trying to clear space on my hard drive and can't find any files that are large. I don't have any media that I can tell stored on the hard drive. I have a lot of applications including the entire FCP studio but there is no way that could be eating up 67 gigs, right? I have a few other questions, also: 1) Is there any way to do a search to see what's taby shelleyrae - Café LA Re: Playback Problems - 18 years agoI have 7 gigs of 74 left on internal hard drive. 90 of 260 left on external. I have also tried running the disk utility but it didn't find any problems. Any other suggestions?by shelleyrae - Café LA Playback Problems - 18 years agoAll of a sudden I'm having problems playing back both browser clips and sequences. I keep getting the dreaded "colorwheel" It will play a few frames then the color wheel comes on. I've tried rebooting but no luck. FYI--I am running Final Cut Studio on a Powerbook G4 with 1.25 GB Ram with Panther OS 10 v. 10.3.9. Processor is 1.25 GH. I'm told this is adequate for running all the pby shelleyrae - Café LA |
