Re: Graphics Card failing? - 16 years agoMechanical switch indeed, probably used no more than 5 or 10 times a day and some days not at all...but I get the point. It didn't occur to me that the yellow was a result of R + G and no B. Or would it be B + G and no R? Either way, I think I'll be replacing the switch. Thanks Koz. Extremely helpful (though I was looking forward to upgrading the ATI).by chad haberstroh - Café LA Re: Graphics Card failing? - 16 years agoI may be using VGA incorrectly. The main monitor is connected direct to the card and the second monitor (the one that's acting up) is connected through a switch via a DVI-VGA adapter. This setup has been pretty constant over the past 2 or 3 years.by chad haberstroh - Café LA Graphics Card failing? - 16 years agoHi, Running a Dual 2.0 G5 Power PC with 4 gig of RAM and 10.4.8. Graphics card is the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro with 2 VGAs connected. One via the VGA Adapter...obviously. That monitor is also run through a switch to a PC. Last week I was working in Motion and FCP, switching back and forth frequently. At one point the monitor in question went black, but was still recognized by the PC. All seemed well and I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my Blackmagic Decklink SP. But now it appears I've lost the option for the Decklink in Device Control in the log and capture window. Help?by chad haberstroh - Café LA Re: Reformatting AVID FW drive for Mac? - 17 years agoDon't know Koz, I don't have a PC to test it. And yes it's a real drive that was partitioned 4 ways and included a bunch of scary Avid files. Like I said, both macs mount USB, both do not mount Firewire...neither port. I thought it was a formatting issue until it mounted USB. So I reformatted it to my OS while it was mounted USB and tried mounting FW, but nothing. Now I'm guessing the FWby chad haberstroh - Café LA Re: Reformatting AVID FW drive for Mac? - 17 years ago"Well, have you tried reformatting the drive using the USB port, then trying to mount it by FireWire?" Of course. Doesn't mount. Tried two different systems and sets of cables, nothing. There are two FW ports and neither work.by chad haberstroh - Café LA Re: Reformatting AVID FW drive for Mac? - 17 years agoappears it's only recognizing the drive via USB. Worthless...by chad haberstroh - Café LA Reformatting AVID FW drive for Mac? - 17 years agoWas given a Seagate FW drive that was originally used on an Avid. Want to use it for a project on my Mac, but my Mac's not recognizing it. Thought I could reformat it but it doesn't see it at all, not in Disk Utility or System Profile. Can anyone recommend a rental house in LA/OC to contact for rates? I've got an inquiry into HSR and Digital Vortechs at the moment.
