Re: OT: RTAV Format - 16 years agoYea... that's all I needed for this one.by Steven Forster - Café LA Re: OT: RTAV Format - 16 years agoThanks Joey, yea... but in my lazyness..... I did figure it out using Toast. Toast was able to open it in the media browser and then export it as video. Thanks again Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA OT: RTAV Format - 16 years agoA customer has presented me with some DVDs that appear to have come from a DVD Sony Handycam, they don't remember the model # and don't have the camera anymore. 2 of the DVD's extracted fine, however one of them has a folder labeled RTAV with the enclosed files labeled .BUP / .IFO / .VRO. Anyone have any tricks to open these? Thanks Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: Freeze frames during video capture - 16 years agoCould this be a dropped frame issue during capture with the "Abort Capture on Dropped Frames" dialog turned off? I used to have this issue when capturing from analog Hi8. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: OT Constant Voltage Regulator - 16 years agohmmmm..... have you tried a simple ground lift adapter on any of your devices? You know... the 3 prong to 2 prog jobbie? Always worked in the audio world and has cleared up a few projector issues. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: OT Constant Voltage Regulator - 16 years agoJack, That sounds more like record/playback head issues than electrical issues. Possibly dirty record head? Just out of idle curiosity, have you tried to move the system to another circuit just to check? Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: OT Constant Voltage Regulator - 16 years agoJack, Are you meaning noise in the video or audio portions or both of the capture? Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: APPLE VS PC DISPLAYS - 16 years agoI purchased 2 - Dell 2407's in January.... even though everytime I go into the Graphics Department and see the shiny 23" ACD's, I still smile knowing that mine is an inch bigger and $200 bucks cheaper. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: Broadcasting Live - 16 years agoThat's what I love about this place.... damn smart people ;-) Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: Broadcasting Live - 16 years agoWireCast is a great program. I just someone would figure out the 1 firewire camera limitation though to eliminate needing a switcher. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: DVCAM Footage Scale - 16 years agoawwww Shane... Why you always gotta be the bearer of bad news..... ;-) Thanks Man Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA DVCAM Footage Scale - 16 years agoI have some surgical footage that was shot for me that was unfortunately not shot tight enough. I need to scale the footage to zoom in on it. Since this was a 1 time opportunity... the re-shoot filter cannot apply. In the opinion of the "Experts" in THEORY how much SHOULD I be able to scale it without losing enourmous amouts of quality. I'm not trusting my eyes at the moment...by Steven Forster - Café LA Re: OT - World Poker Tournament - 16 years agoCheck out www.polecam.com. We've been using them on some projects that are similar and they work fabulously. Capture each to it's own deck or ingest system or with a live switcher for a cut feed. They are a bit on the pricy side but well worth the cost. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: pal to ntsc - 16 years agoCheck out Graeme's Standards Conversion at www.nattress.com . I use it everyday. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: I'm a bear! - 16 years ago<They have laws?> Of course they have laws in AU... don't you remember MAD MAX? I believe it was a documentary of sorts....by Steven Forster - Café LA Re: FCP switch to Avid Express How Hard? - 16 years agoI would like to thank EVERYONE that jumped in on this thread. Well the event is FINALLY over. 11 days in Las Vegas was just WAY TOO MUCH! As it turns out. I ended up directing and producing the daily highlight videos as well as all of the content that was shown on 2 channels of the MGM Grand television system. I was supplied with 2 Avid Editors and 1 camera person, a couple of DigiBeta (NTSCby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: FCP switch to Avid Express How Hard? - 16 years agoThis thread took a very interesting turn........... :-) Everyone, THANK YOU for your help! As it turns out, I am just overseeing the the work of 2 other editors and what actual editing I will be doing I can do on my system. WHEW!!! wiping the sweat from my forehead! Now going from deathly afraid to smoke & mirrors mode. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: FCP switch to Avid Express How Hard? - 16 years agoShane, Thanks! That's what I was afraid of. The producers of the project knew full well that I use FCP, but the other editor uses Avid and that's what they went with. I am taking my system just in case, but I'm afraid that the ingesting will be from sdi uncompressed and I will have to buy a Kona real quick. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA FCP switch to Avid Express How Hard? - 16 years agoI JUST!!! found out that a series of live capture for immediate re-broadcast projects that I am scheduled for over the next 2 weeks (starting tomorrow) is using Avid Express systems. How difficult will it be to get the hang of the basics (capture, cut, export) of Avid Express, knowing that I've used FCP exclusively over the last 6 years? Thanks Guys! Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: Matrox MXO review - 17 years agoGreat Job Shane! Now that I JUST took delivery on 2 Dell 2407's, hopefully I can get the same results. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: 1st time Yak sighting - 17 years agoI saw Bruce once! Unfortunately before I could show him off to some friends, Corel locked up the machine and had to do a hard boot.by Steven Forster - Café LA Re: FCS 5.1 "academic" version compatibility-HELP!! - 17 years agoI think he means LT for Lap Topby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: fancy transition - 17 years agoAnother one that I really like for that kind of effect (did i just say like) is thewind blur / cross from Too MuchToo Soon. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: Converting NTSC to PAL - 17 years agoGotta recommend the Nattress converter. Use it everyday...good stuff. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: Monitor question - 17 years agoWayne, I've taken your advise and ordered 2 - 2407's. I hope to have them next week Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: quicktime conversion to wmv - 17 years agoIs it possible that you may only have a demo version of Flip4Mac?by Steven Forster - Café LA Re: fuzzy resolution from files imported from Photoshop - 17 years agoCB, are you judging the quality on your mac monitor from FCP or are you looking at this on an external NTSC monitor?by Steven Forster - Café LA Re: Title 3D keeps crashing FCP - 17 years agoI have had this problem! (2 machines) On one of the machines I was able to narrow it down to a corrupt font (with the help of this fourm). The 2nd machine it still happens to 'cause I haven't had time to check all the fonts. Steveby Steven Forster - Café LA Re: How to save a turkey and still enjoy Thanksgiving - 17 years agoI know I'm stepping in here late in the game but....... Filmman, it seems like you are forever on the quest to find out what "magical filter" is going to make your project an instant hit. I think you need to step back for a moment, walk away from the project and come back with a fresh perspective. You're too close to the picture. From an audio analogy when I was making records, I uby Steven Forster - Café LA |
