Re: Automation - 16 years agoYeah most of my searching on the net about this is just coming up with bitchfests about how FCP is not scriptable. Pretty retarded of Apple to not expose the scripting API like that.by bscenefilms - Café LA Automation - 16 years agoIs it possible to use automator or applescript to automate repetitive tasks in FCP?by bscenefilms - Café LA Control Surface - An opportunity... - 16 years agoIf I listen to Phillip Hodgetts's opinion on using Color, I would need to spend $20K setting up a room for it... And, in actuality, I have a room that is not too far off from what he describes. However, one of the sticking points is a control surface. JL Cooper makes the cheapest one that I can find at $5K+. After futzing around with it, I just plugged my monitors into the 7300 card that came with the MacPro and all was fine... Then today I read Mike Curtis's blog post on setting up a Mac Pro: And I had my answer. I moved the x1900 to slot 1 and the 7300 to slot 4 and picked the number 1 config preset in the Expby bscenefilms - Café LA Re: Is there a plugin to simulate a car crash? - 16 years agoSure - there is a plug-in called Maya =) Seriously, you will need a CD type app to pull this off.by bscenefilms - Café LA Re: Quicktime aspect ratio changes - 16 years agoTry setting your pixel aspect ratio to 1.2 when you ouput to QT.by bscenefilms - Café LA Re: Mixer question - 16 years agoOK, makes sense. All of the audio that I have used was always from a double system and the audio was on a memory card so my captures have constituted a file copy. However, that is about to change...by bscenefilms - Café LA Re: Quicktime aspect ratio changes - 16 years agoWhat is the aspect ratio and resolution of the source material?by bscenefilms - Café LA Re: Mixer question - 16 years agoQuoteTo control your audio levels. Heh - Yeah I know that OK, barring the VO Mic, you are saying that if you have a deck that you are capturing from, you want to take the audio out from the deck and feed it to the mixer and then the mixer to the capture card. Is that correct? Based on that, I assume that you would then use the mixer to adjust to a particular level of audio for the captureby bscenefilms - Café LA Mixer question - 16 years agoLooking through the Supermeet 2007 Magazine (Thanks for putting that up as a PDF BTW), I was reading the system reccomendations for an editing system. A Mackie mixer is part of the mix in those systems. If you are not recording live audio, why would you need this? Thanks! The original configuration was 23" on the ATI and VGA on the nVidia. So I moved the 23 to the nVidia and it played back perfectly. Zero issues. Out of curiosity I moved both connectors to the ATI board. When I fired up the mac, the monitors were reversed (the main monitor was now the CRT and the secondary was the 23". And I have been trying to run this file for a while. Started playing with it about a week ago. Was just hoping one of the Gurus here might have a thought. It has the default Nvidia 7300 video card in it as well as the ATI x1900. The ATI is connected to a 23" Cinema display and the second connector is connected to an older VGA CRT. The 7300 is not connected to a display. Now, I downloaded the 1920x1080 h.264 video from here: It chugs. Steve suggested taking the explanation offline but alluded to the fact that you do not want to use the built in optical port for doing this. I never got to hear what the answer for this was. Now it is also claimed that defining subclips will improve performance when dealing with a large media file regardless of whether you create the separate media files or not. Is this indeed the casby bscenefilms - Café LA |
