Re: Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agoI know there shouldn't a be a difference but when I tried earlier there was! Frame size was 720x480 by the way, not HD...that's why it's relativly 'small'. but I'll have a look!by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agook, but how do you explain that the other movie was exported with the same settings, same length but cristall clear? doesn't that alone tell you that it can't be a formatting problem? oh and since it worked before with a ntsc dv codec the clip has about a size of 700 MB! not more!by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agoI'll try it, but can you explain to me why it should make a difference. Just wanna know...by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agook, I'll try the prores 422hq codec. @bigbossbmb: no, that other video had about the same length, 3 mins something. I don't know how my hard drive is formatted. I bought it, installed FCP 6 and was done.by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agothe livetype files were project files, no movie files (as is the opening title, but that one doesn't seem to cause problems). but I will try that! which one should I select? the render all yuv material in high precision with 8 or 10 bit?by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agostrypes Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ah.. I don't know why but when I select 'current settings' it's not working, the titles aren't sharp. The point where it stops exporting is on a normal movie clip. 22 seconds after that 3 more livetype clips appear as the end titles. I tried something else: I just exported another movie clip with theby Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agoI don't believe it! I trashed my prefs as advised in the link...and...NOTHING! still the same problem!by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agoeverything's rendered and nothing selected. when I set in and out points I get the same result. what's so strange is that it exports the whole movie using QT conversion? I mean, this gotta be a bug or something. how do I trash my prefs? never done it before...by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agoI don't have any in and out markers set! also...it wouldn't export the whole thing with QT conversion...something's wrong with the QT selfcontained movie settingby Katrin1980 - Café LA Self contained movie ProRess422 doesn't export full clip!! - 15 years agoHi! My problem is kind of strange. It started when I picked up on an old topic here about why livetype titles don't appear crisp once imported in FCP. I tried everything you recommended and finally found the right settings: I exported the 3.30 mins movie which has sequence settings of: 23.97, NTSC DV (3:2) and using proress 422. Then I exported using QT and apple ProRess 422. The first livetypby Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering text and animation after burning with Toast - 15 years agoI'll do all that and report! The Maya animations have been done with 25fps to fit into the rest of the sequence.by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering text and animation after burning with Toast - 15 years agoit's not fluttering when monitoring it on my external monitor!! what does that mean? do I need to compress the large Maya files BEFORE exporting it together with the whole sequence?by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering text and animation after burning with Toast - 15 years agothis time I did not monitor it at all. I DO have an external monitor though, a Trinitron. I'll check if the fluttering shows there... and yes, I checked the DVD on a HD TV.by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering text and animation after burning with Toast - 15 years agonow...it was a LITTLE better. the movie clip was 4,6 GB big, but it didn't help. Has anyone tipps on how to deal with Maya animations when exporting/burning to DVD?by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Stuttering text and animation after burning with Toast - 15 years agoI usually do the exact same thing and the clips and trailers are even great too watch in my home cinema. I think it's because of the Maya animations...it's gotta be the reason cause it was the first time I used these. the fluttering was just on the text and animation...which makes about 90% of the presentation the Pal footage I captured had the same format though some was 10 years old. The Maby Katrin1980 - Café LA Stuttering text and animation after burning with Toast - 15 years agoHi, yesterday I finished my presentation clip and was very frustrated to learn that after exporting with quicktime conversion (I tried DV Pal and H.264) and burning a DVD with Toast it stuttered when I tested it on my DVD player! While scrolling the text stuttered and the animation (a turning earth e.g.) too. I tried several things like making a PAL and a NTSC version, lowering the Mbps rate anby Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Capturing from a VCR URGENT!!!! - 15 years agoOhhhh, now I get what you mean with the recapturing. Well, it's so bad quality because the tapes are really old and it's flickering and noising all over. It's not that much of a problem because the clients are aware of the problem. Aehm, I just THOUGHT it's done by a mini DV camera and I don't have the original DV tape to capture just the VHS tape so I can't use a camera or a deck. So I captureby Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Capturing from a VCR URGENT!!!! - 15 years agoI'm not sure what you mean, it's an old DV Pal tape with a length of 6 minutes which I captured full resolution because...well, it doesn't take that much space really. (and the quality suuuuucks) forgive me, I'm not so good with the technical site of editing.by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Capturing from a VCR URGENT!!!! - 15 years agostrypes Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ha. I have to finish a small presentation till Friday and therefore I need to capture some old footage from a video cassette. I bought an ADVC-55 converter and made all the cable connections but when I start 'log and capture' in FCP it says 'no connection.' I've never captured from a VCR before, so am I missing something?by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: Wacom tablet or Kensington trackball - 15 years agoI have the small Bamboo tablet and with the exception of some commands which just don't seem to work that good on the tablet I'm using it all the time...and my shoulder stopped hurting since.by Katrin1980 - Café LA Re: OT: Dual monitors - 15 years agooh ok, got you wrong before. So they included the crossfire for the ATI PC users...got it I'll try installing the old card to see if performance increases...by Katrin1980 - Motion Re: OT: Dual monitors - 15 years agoRight! I'm just considering now to buy a second ATI 3870 and connect them both with that crossfire thing ... I know it's best to just deactivate some of the lights and layers while I'm not using them but especially in Motion I feel like it's better to have a look of how everything works together...which you can't do when you deactivate things. Is it possible to have my second monitor run on my oby Katrin1980 - Motion Re: Graphic Card too slow? - 15 years agoOh thanks, that helped...especially setting in and out points. It's only a 25 seconds timeline but with a looooot of layers and lights. Turning off the lights is very useful too. But the most effective is deconnecting the second monitor!by Katrin1980 - Motion Re: OT: Dual monitors - 15 years agoIt's not a crossfire card, it's a little thing to connect two ATI cards together! Oehm, my performance in Motion improved considerably when I turned deconnected my second monitor! But...that is not a nice permanent solution.by Katrin1980 - Motion Re: OT: Dual monitors - 15 years agooh, I have the same problem. I have the new ATI HD 3870 now but still have to turn my second monitor off. Should I use the cross fire thingy to install a second card?by Katrin1980 - Motion Re: Graphic Card too slow? - 15 years agoI got the new card yesterday but somehow it's not as fast as I expected. Should I keep the old card installed and work with the new ATI and the old one? Am I doing something wrong or is it normal that Motion is so slow once I'm working with 10 layers, 10 lights and behaviours ect. ?by Katrin1980 - Motion Re: How do I output to 5.1? - 15 years agoThanks Kevin, mir gehts gut und dir? Yeah I know, I already attended a class at Moviola...but of course it's difficult because we're only 4-5 times in LA each year and of course the classes don't always match my schedule.by Katrin1980 - Café LA |
