Here is some links for more information on the technical specifications: This isby Mikey M. :) - lafcpug Market Aja Kona 3 and 3G for sale - 9 years agoHello and good afternoon. I am selling used but perfectly good 3 x AJA Kona 3 PCIe cards with the breakout cables and 1 x AJA Kona 3G PCIe card with breakout cable. They were pulled from working, production Mac Pro's and no longer have a use for them since we upgraded to the new Mac Pro (without PCIe slots). They were in a production environment, which means they were well taken care of.by Mikey M. :) - lafcpug Market Editor needed for technical editing - 12 years agoHey Guys, I work for one of the biggest post houses in the world and we are looking for folks that are proficient in Final Cut Pro. Philip, i am glad that you made it easier for your client and will be able to deliver a file that he ultimately wanted, rby Mikey M. :) - Café LA Re: MPEG2 Specifications - 17 years agoHey Philip, my initila question would be, what does the client ultimately want to do with the mpeg2 file? does he want it for archival purposes, does he want it to create a DVD, does he want to upload to web, does he want to deliver to a cable station to air (VOD)? when you ask your client and get back to us, i can tell you which way to proceed. In the meantime, let me interpret the aboby Mikey M. :) - Café LA Re: Menu transitions - 17 years agoHey jb there is a way, but i see how you would want to keep it as seamless as possible. unfortunately, you will get some type of jump. try these methods and see if they help: here is a method using menus here is a method using the VTS (video stream)by Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro Re: DLT Drive Setup - 17 years agoHey junglejim, here is my set up. it will be 2 images, 1 is the set up for the channel BUS and the second for the device itself. if this doesnt help you configure your DLT, then i STRONGLY recommend you contact ATTO, a great bunch of guys that will not get off the phone with you until you figure out your problem! they even do follow up calls to make sure everything is working right.by Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro Re: Mpeg to VOB - 17 years agoHey vicwrite, it's kind of hard to recommend a compressor setting since i cant see the video file. just like you mentioned in the last sentence of your post, compression is an art, and it's really difficult for settings to work universally, since all sequences are not created equally. there are way to many variables to take into account before you actually encode a file for DVD. with thaby Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro Re: Insufficient disc space for encoding - 17 years agoHey DH, all you say is true. however, i have to say that in my experiences, using compressor to encode a reference movie comes with its own problems. first, we have to know the difference between a self-contained movie and a reference movie (besides the obvious space issue). a self-conatined movie exported from your FCP is media independent, having every frame of your edited video andby Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro Re: Kinda off topic...untimely DVD player Deaths - 17 years agoHey paul kelleher, from my experiences and from what i have caught on from Panasonic and Toshiba engineers is: on of the most commom reasons disc players stop working is the death of the diode laser. this death can happen for many reasons: faulty laser, a sudden jolt or the player being dropped, thus the head becomes unaligned, too much usage, etc. remember, the laser is just that, a hby Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro Re: Dual Layer Burner - 17 years agoHey junglejim nice find from ebay huh, i have found a couple of systems on there with great prices! anyway, no, your pioneer burner is NOT DL capable. however, internal drives (i love pioneer drives by the way, been using them for close to 7 years now strictly for DVD authoring) are really inexpensive and very easy to install. the one installed on my mac is the Pioneer DVR-111D. itby Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro Re: Insufficient disc space for encoding - 17 years agohey julesbowman ok, i have ALWAYS suggested against using the encoder withing DVDSP (it's my thing, so sue me ). you did everything i would with the excpetion of sending your created Self-Contained *.mov's into compressor and not DVDSP. Why? because compressor gives you a lot more control over how you encode the file (although in inexperienced hads, all the fance settings can be dangerous)by Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro Re: DLT Drive Setup - 17 years agoHey Junglejim, presuming that all DLT machines will work with DVDSP (i have only used Quantum 4000 Machines)... if you have installed the ATTO Configuration Tool, Downloadable here (you have to be a registered user), then it's as easy as clicking on Atto Configuration application (located in Root Drive > Applications) and clicking on the Drop down "hosts" > "localhost&by Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro Re: Mpeg to VOB - 17 years agoHey vicwrite you can prevent this several ways, depending on what application you are using to encode your *.m2v files. remember, the *.VOB is just the multiplexed version of your audio and video (combined). so there really is no more transcoding or encoding of the file. it essentially just marries both audio, video and subtitle files (if there are any). you say your luminance (brightnesby Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro Re: Insufficient disc space for encoding - 17 years agoHey julesbowman, are you encoding straight out of FCP, are you using DVD SP's encoder or are you using compressor to encode your QT files? it sounds like it has nothing to due with your DVD discs, but with the digital files themselves. i can definetly help you on this , but need a little more info: -what preferences are you referring to (as in what application) -is your video SD or HDby Mikey M. :) - DVD Studio Pro |
