How to edit in Final Cut with 3-D avi files? - 13 years ago
I'm on a 2010 MBP with Snow Leopard and Final Cut 7. I opened and L-R split the 3-D avi video files from my Fuji W3 with StereoSplicer, but what's the best way to edit/output in Final Cut?by Retro90 - Café LA

Your stuff looks great. Everything I have up is from 29.97 source so no applicable links. Don't have FCS3 yet, still on a G5. Plan on changing that this week. Why then do all my 23.98 videos look jerky when uploaded but none of my 29.97 videos do? I have a million + views of 29.97 on youtube that play fine, but 23.98 stutters. Anyone have a good workflow for this? I'd appreciate an answer to my question, not an argument...thanks!by Retro90 - Café LA

Because it looks jerky when uploaded on the web at 23.98 (either Quicktime & mp4), tried several diff sites including vimeo and imdb...not acceptable. Yes 23.98 plays fine on Blu-ray or on a computer or if we get to theatrical, but not net. So what is the best workflow please? And does it work for an edited sequence or just clips?by Retro90 - Café LA

Cut a film trailer in FCP6 on a 23.98 timeline and need to convert to 29.97 to post on the web. What is the best workflow? Compressor, or? Can I convert the whole edited sequence which has 75 cuts in under 2 minutes, or need to convert each clip and re-edit? Any help appreciated!by Retro90 - Café LA

Yes, I understand the workflow seems convoluted, but it's a micro budget art house film and we had a window of opportunity to color time this summer before we were done with editing, effects & sound...which is why I had to go back back to FCP and DVCProHD to finish. This is all being done on a G5 running FCP6, and don't have another station to switch to. So my question still is - what kind ofby Retro90 - Café LA

The 2-3 encode cycles was outputting a full res DVCProHD Quicktime file from my FCP 6 timeline, then re-importing it into FCP, then repeat. The reason being that my project file was corrupted and that output file is now my only color corrected source to continue using in a new project file. Nothing was resized but filters were used. I'm having trouble importing Quicktime 7 .mov files into DVD SP 4. Either by themselves or in a folder, it says wrong file type on import.
