"Soundtrack Pro 2"

We welcomed Ripple Training's Steve Martin abd editor Jeremy Roush who took us deep inside Soundtrack Pro 2. Plus Marco Solorio of Cinesoft showed off the brand new Media Batch, Shane Ross of Little Frog in High def, show ed us how to get Organized in FCP. Plus Stump the Gurus and World Famous Raffle and Show and Tells from Christine Steele and Tony Mark.

6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join FCP Gurus Andrew Balis, Shane Ross, Christine Steele and KD Gulko as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCP. If they can't solve your problem or answer your How 2, then you go home with a problem but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

7:20PM - 7:40PM - 'Getting Organized in Final Cut Pro' -Shane Ross
So you know how to use Final Cut Pro, but now you have a big project. Where do you start? How do you organize it? Where should your media go? What about your project files, audio files and picture files?
Maybe you're just getting started. Maybe you're a big project veteran who just wants to be more efficient. Industry Vet, Shane Ross will share tips from his brand new in-depth series of 9 video tutorials spanning over 90 minutes, "Getting Organized in Final Cut Pro."

7:45PM - 8:15PM - Media Batch - Marco Solorio
Marco Solorio
of Cinesoft (and owner of OneRiver Media) will present Media Batch which was shown first to the public at NAB 2007 at the Cinesoft booth. Media Batch is a password protected media deployment system that lives on your website server and allows your production team and your clients to view, download, approve and manage media files for your projects in a highly stylized yet easy-to-use interface. Users can also post notes to each file, view a detailed history of file activity, view metadata information (like codec type, frame-rate, etc.) and even upload files directly to a Media Batch list. Works with any file type and streams all popular formats (FLV, MP3, MOV, WMV, AVI, SWF and countless others). We'll discuss the deeper workings of many more powerful functions that are not listed here. So get ready to end scattered emails with bloated attachments. And if FTP scares your clients, they'll never have to use that again either!

8:15PM - 8:30PM - Christine Steele - Show and Tell
TBA

8:30PM - 9:00PM - Break
This is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved. New video storage solutions company, Dulce Systems will be in the lobby showing off their toys. DVCreators will aslo be in Lobby. Shane Ross and Marco Solorio will be there too. The lobby will be full of fun stuff. Lots of FCP Gurus come to lafcpug meetings and ths is your chance to network and make contacts and get your problems solved. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.

9:00PM - 9:40PM -"Everthing you need to know about Soundtrack Pro 2" - Steve Martin and Doug Cunningham and Jeremy Roush
This is not your father's Soundtrack Pro. STP2 has been completely re-built and offers a much more intuitive user interface. It is my favorite of the tools in Final Cut Studio 2. And there is no one better to show it off than Ripple Training's Steve Martin. Steve will be joined by Apple's Doug Cunningham and editor Jeremy Roush . You really need to see Soundtrack Pro 2 in action to appreciate how powerful a tool it has become.

9:45PM - 9:55PM - Eddie and The Squid - Tony Mark - Show and Tell
From Tony:
"Showing this month is long time LAFCPUG member and filmmaker Tony Mark. He has over the years brought us clips from some of his live action films he's directed but this month he is bringing us a clip from an animated series called Eddie and the Squid starring George Lopez. This is Tony's second time doing animation, last year Tony worked on the show Tutenstein for Discovery network which has just earned a Emmy nomination. The show he is bringing us this month was done in Toon Boom and edited and finished in Final Cut and is currently being shopped to the networks. He will take questions afterwards so if you have any about the workflow from animation to FCP, now is the time to come."
