"How did you do that?"

Join us as we devote much of the evening to Final Cut Studio techniques. It will be "How did you do that, Night," where we will demo as many "How 2s" as we can squeeze into one evening.

Plus we will have another round of Stump the Gurus, Show and Tells, and of course World Famous Raffle. Agenda will be set one week before the meeting date.

Agenda

6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join FCP Gurus Shane Ross, KD Gulko, Kevin Monahan and Victor Maldonado, as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCP. If they can't solve your problem or answer your How 2, then you go home with a problem but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

7:20PM - 7:35PM - "How to make a FCP Plug-in" - Shane Ross
Editor Shane Ross will show us how to get started making your own Plug-in in FCP. And no, you don't have to be a geek to do it.

7:40PM - 7:55PM - Sad Lisa - (How did you do that?) - Alan Sheltra
Animator Alan Sheltra shows us his video set to Cat Steven's song, "Sad Lisa," and tells us "how he did it" using Combustion, Soundtrack 2 and FCP to create the video.

8:00PM - 8:15PM - "Super Fast Heavy Metal Video Blitz" - (How did you do that?) - Eddie Roman
The "Super Fast Heavy Metal" edit is a type of strobe transition. It is sometimes used in music videos to visually accent a crescendo. Eddie has been editing since the 80's, back in the days of non-linear systems. Back then, this edit took hours, and this is why Eddie likes doing this technique so much on non-linear systems today. It's basically a fast way to do one and two frame edits.

8:15PM- 8:30PM - "Metamorfishes" -- (Why did you do that?) -- Mitchell Rose
Filmmaker Mitchell Rose shows an underwater dance film and demonstrates how he used the 3-Way Color Corrector to save his ass by making an old-school blue screen plate. Also thrown into the mix is Studio Artist and a creamy garlic sauce.

8:30PM- 8:45PM - "Straight Life: The Story of Art Pepper" - (How did you do that?) - Laurie Pepper
Filmmaker Laurie Pepper shows us her video on legendary Jazz Sax player, Art Pepper and show us how she did it. Part of a work in progress, based on the book, "Straight Life: The Story of Art Pepper." Opening scenes including the one shown at the link.

8:45PM - 9:05PM - Break
This is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved. Lots of Gurus come to lafcpug meetings. CalDigit will be in the Lobby showing off their groovy SATA RAID solutions..Larry Jordan will be in the lobby showing off all his DVDs and Books and talking about his upcoming tour. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.
