Tonight we celebrated lafcpug's 7th Birthday. We devoted the entire night to everything you need to know about FCP 6. We had several presentations covering most of the new "cool stuff" and if that wasn't enough, we had round of Stump The Gurus and World Famous Raffle.

Guests included Steve Martin showed us "Working with Motion Templates in FCP 6." Apple's Senior Manager, Pro Apps Marketing, Paul Saccone showed us told about ProRes 422 and more. Also, very special guest, FCP Product Designer, Brian Meaney was on hand. Larry Jordan demoed the new filter, Smoothcam from FCP 6. Not enough? Author and editor Lisa Brenneis showed off her latest doc, "Eat at Bill's: Life in the Monterey Market."

6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus
Join FCP Gurus Andrew Balis, Steve Martin, Larry Jordan, and KD Gulko as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCP. If they can't solve your problem or answer your How 2, then you go home with a problem but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

7:20PM - 7:40PM - 'SmoothCam Filter' -Larry Jordan
One of the new features in Final Cut Pro 6 is the SmoothCam filter, which essentially does what the name implies, smooth out your shaky camera shots. Using technology from Shake, SmoothCam is an easy to use drag and drop, 2 step process filter. BUT, there is lots you should know before you use it.

7:45PM - 8:15PM - ProRes 422 and something Super Secret- Paul Saccone
Apple's Senior Manager, Pro Apps Marketing, Paul Saconne will show off and explain the new codec, ProRes 422 and more. Paul announced FCP 6.0.1

8:20PM - 8:30PM - "Eat at Bill's: Life in the Monterey Market".- Lisa Brenneis - Show and Tell
In the two years between FCP 5 and FCP 6, Lisa Brenneis was able to stop endlessly revising her Final Cut Pro Visual Quickpro Guide and finish Version 1.0 of her video documentary "Eat at Bill's: Life in the Monterey Market".
"Eat at Bill's" is a homemade valentine to a man and his market -- man and market both remarkable.

8:30PM - 8:55PM - Break
This is a chance to hang out and meet and greet and get your problems solved. Dulce Systems will be in the lobby. So will Shane Ross plus lots more folks. The lobby will be full of fun stuff. Lots of FCP Gurus come to lafcpug meetings and ths is your chance to network and make contacts and get your problems solved. Snacks and Beer and Wine will be on sale in the lobby. Proceeds go to the Gallery Theater.
