It happened ten times in a row. I changed everything, it still does it. Help! I have the G5 dual processor 2.7 Hz OS 10.4 FCP 5.01

Shane's Stock Tip Mantra: If the program was working fine, and now isn't, or just isn't working the way it should, the first things to do are:

1) Trash your FCP preferences. Download the appropriate version of FCP Rescue at [fcprescue.andersholck.com] and run it.

2) Open the Disk Utility and Repair Permissions.

3) (optional) Sacrifice a goat on the eve of the first Full Moon of the month. Results may vary.

Firstborns would probably work better.

Then you find out you're supposed to do it at new moon, not full moon.

Oops. Sorry, kid.

By the way, are you using Capture Now or Batch Capture?

I capture using NOW. It's the only one that works well for me. When I log and then do a batch capture, FCP can't find the timecode. But the NOW capture works. I capture one clip at a time and then everything looks great. This works for HDV and DVCAM also.

I was able to solve my problems by following a Larry Jordan article about optimizing my computer. It's at: [www.larryjordan.biz]
