Imported Photoshop file has no layers

By importing Photoshop files I want to work with layers. It is not working. I was following the manual without any results. Any ideas?

Not enough info. What format did you save as? I've found the best way to access Photoshop layers in FCP is to import as PSD files. Once you do so, the file should show up in FCP with a Sequence icon (to FCP, a layered PSD file is a sequence/nested clip, not a clip). When you say "It is not working", what exactly happens?

I did save Photoshop file as PSD and after import I had all layers merged and not as the sequence/separated layers...

Try opening up the file in Photoshop and do a Save as again as a PSD, and make sure layers are included.
