Not Loading

I am running FCP 5.0.3 on OS 10.4.2, Dual 2GHz, 4GB DDR SDRAM. After shutting my machine down and returning this morning I discovered that FCP will not open. It starts to load and then stops and closes. I would be very thankfull for any ideas??

Download FCP rescue and run it...trash your preferences:

FCP rescue will only restore the settings you already have, though - not do any repairs. So make sure to trash preferences first, reset your preferences the way you like them, *then* run FCP rescue. This will save your current (good) settins so that if this sort of thing happens again you just have to click a box in FCP rescue to fix it.
