Capturing live to CPU from FX1?

I would like to capture live from the FX1 to my G5 using no tape inside the FX1. I can't seem to get Final Cut 5 to do this - does anyone have any ideas how to do this? I do NOT want to use FCE or anything else using the Intermediate codec.

Change the settings in your log and capture window to 'Non Controllable Device". This will record anything streaming in through the firewire cable. We sometimes run our SP studio camera through a DSR-11 into the Mac in this way.
