custom countdown in fcp studio

I need to make a custom countdown using my show's font and i can't find an "easy" plugin or something to do this. Also I need it to be an element in my timeline not just for output. Does anyone know a trick to this maybe in motion or fcp?

Why a custom font countdown? The countdown is not seen if this is broadcast material? Uh! I have made a couple of countdowns and they vary. One was a clock sweep for one second with the second number overlayed in FCP.

What kind of countdown do you want, and should look like?

just import your number characters and use motion or effect keyframes to time them to time code points.

are you just wanting a standard spinning countdown but with your font? or do you want something more stylized?

If you have After Effects 6.5 Pro then this is a very good template project which will allow you to customize it just how you need and then render out for FCP:
