HDCAM 1080 23.98 downconvert to 525 29.97

I've got so HDCAM 1080 23.98 footage and I am using a Kona3 card and a Sony J-H3 deck.
I want to digitize the footage and convert it to 525 29.97 but I can not figure out the proper settings with FCP and the Kona3 card.
Has anyone had any luck doing this?

I've never done it, but I do know that you have to have the cadence set properly in the RT pop up menu.

You also have to go to your KONA control panel and make sure your SDI out is set to 525 29.97. Check the format pop up menu for how you wish to do the downconvert.

Lastly, make sure the J deck is set to record 29.97.
