Composite modes - Transition Rendering issues.

I've wanted a decent answer to this for a long time.

If I have an image on a video track, (or even another video track above a video track) with the blend mode (composite mode) of the top track set to SCREEN (or any composite mode, Screen, Multiply, Overlay, etc.) the minute I add a transition, CROSS DISSOLVE, or DIP DISSOLVE, or whatever, the integrity of the blend mode falls apart in the transition. Has anyone EVER figured out a way around this issue?

It seems to be a buggy thing that by now should be rock solid in FCP.

ANy input would be helpful.

Cheers,

Geno

Try using Opacity keyframes instead of a transition. That might work better for you.

I'm not getting that problem here - could you explain your method a bit more?

I've got a clip on V1, with a copy of the clip above it on V2, with multiply added to the top clip, and a 12 frame cross dissolve added to the front of each of the two clips. No shift, and the comp mode stays fine through the transistion...
