OT: Replacement for a dsr-40

hello,

i was wondering what i could use instead of a sony dsr-40 dv deck..

the path i use now is.. powerbook firewire to dv deck firewire ...xlr out to audio board.. and video out of deck to D/A . and out of D/A to 4 tv monitors.

i would like to find something to replace using the deck to get audio and video out of the powerbook, and to my distribution amp to the tv's.

any suggestions?

what exactly is the situation you are in?

you could replace the deck with a canopus advc110 - but youd have to use rca outs instead of xlr, but that shouldnt effect your sound quality...

my situation is that i have some video segments that need to play over 4 tv's to an audience. i use the dv deck to get out of my powerbook through firewire. soon i might not have access to the dv deck and i was wondering if they made some kind of breakout box i could use instead.

yeah, that canopus box will do it. as long as you dont mind using adapters to connect from its rca outs to your xlr cables.
