Countdowns - can you help me find them?Posted by harry323
one way is to do a Print To Video, of anything- one shot,
then re-capoture the countdown you get off the tape. it's a pretty suckworthy countdown, to use the recent vernacular. SOMEWHERE along the line i did get some countdowns created for FCP. they came as an extra with FCP (maybe version 4?) and they may have been included in with the Cinema Tools stuff, i guess they did, as they're in a folder called "Head Leaders for Cinema Tools 2"! also in that folder is a project where they built the countdown. you can tweak, and change settings to get just the type you want, if it isn't available. hope that helps, nick
If you just wanted to get it on the timeline, you could output it to tape and then re-digitize it. I will admit, it's rather "suckworthy".
The guys on e-bay who sell 5,000 full motion backgrounds for $9.99 sometimes have a leader or two in there. I did a google search for "countdown slate" and had a few promising leads, but nothing immediate. I have a few laying around from various toolkits that I've received in gimmie-bags over the years... they look flim-ish. Wouldn't know where to point you to get one, though. If you're looking for something to count from ten to one, how about ten text items with clock-wipes between them? Or are you looking for something to actually include as an element in a production?
CGM has one in their plugins and you can customize with a slate or logo
it's part of a big set of plugins ..which are excellent [www.cgm-online.com]
