matrox axio? Is it a codec?

Is anybody familiar with this piece of software? I have only read limited info on it, it is only made for Adobe premier..that would be a shame.

The Axio is a complete editing environment (introduced last year at NAB) directed mainly at the 720p/HDV market. It uses Adobe Premiere and some fairly expensive Matrox hardware. People talk in terms of $15K to get started on one.

I think this is retalliation for Canopus deserting the Premiere guys when they introduced Edius...
