Hey is it just me or is DALSA really out with their 100MP sensor cams already? Anyone some insight?

This is a question for Graeme. Regardless, you can't buy an Origin, you can buy a RED.... one day.

So the DALSA deal is still rental only? Thought they'd sell them by now. Interesting.

Without anything including lens the rental cost is 3K a day as far as I remember. And 4K metadata will will cost you gazillions of terabytes of storage. Well, lots of terabytes, anyway.

The 100mp chip is just that - a chip, probably for NASA / Astronomy use, and probably about $1million a chip - ouch. It's totally unusable for digital cinema use. Not least people have difficulty with the amount of data from a 12mp sensor like ours, never mind 8 times that data!!! I mean, a lens to go on that thing, given it's size would be the national debt of a small country.
