Need something that looks like a satellite feed ident.Posted by harry323
I'm cutting a film in which there is a scene where we see the ident of a satellite feed coming from the West Coast. I'm sure most of you know what I mean ... there are a few seconds of color bars and then a down and dirty identification of where it's coming from or whatever. The the newsflash or program begins.
Could someone please email me a frame of Quicktime from a real one so I can sort of copy, or even just wording which sounds reasonably realistic. Many thanks. Harry. Harry Bromley-Davenport.
Sorry, man...a bit confused. What are you looking for here EXACTLY, Harry? Like a CNN "News Alert" News-type full page that cuts to Talent with a lower third graphic / logo / text crawl or something like that?

No. I'm not looking for a news alert thingy.
Here's what I mean: When, say, CBS, sends something - anything - a piece of newsvideo or a TV show - to, say, a local station somewhere in the Midwest market, they do so via satellite. That "private" transmission begins with an identification slate which has all kinds of technical gobbledygook in it like ... the title, the episode number, the broadcast standard, the provenance, the destination, the timing of the item and other stuff. The film I am editing has a scene where we get a little flash of this information before the news item comes up. That's the information I'm looking for. And thanks for trying to understand. Sorry I wasn't clearer. Still trying to find it, by the way. Best Harry. Harry Bromley-Davenport.
Just slap some color bars down, make a few elements in photoshop, sprinkle in some text. Doesn't look difficult.

Google is my friend. I often "get ideas" from the net and then re-purpose them in my own design. A cool idea from the ol' MGE_FCP tome I wrote all those years ago. ;-)
