The computer is reading timecode and operating the camera, there is no picture and no data. I have checked all the settings all set to HDV 1080 50 which is what the camera indicates on its viewer. Any ideas? Thankyou...

Did you upgrade Quicktime recently ?

Try a straight dv to dv capture. If you still have "deck" control (FF, Play, stop etc.) but do not see a picture and can't import footage - then

The camera has a HDV/DV converter...that was the problem..thanks Ian
