EDL export randomly linking to aux timecode?

So trying to do a video only EDL. Random shots are linking to aux timecode numbers as opposed to source timecode. In fact about 50% of the shots. The aux TC is the sound timecode, so that won't work for the video conform.

There are instances where the same source shot cut into two places are linking up to both source and aux numbers. Very frustrating at this point.

Any ideas for me?

hi tim.

that sounds like weird behaviour.
have you tried trashing your preferences?

i haven't had the problem you describe, so im really just guessing.

i had some luck shaking other form of clingy metdata recently,
[www.lafcpug.org]

maybe copy the sequence,
and delete all audio in the copy.
then try the EDL again.

if that doesn't work,
maybe Media Manage the no-audio sequence,
use "create offline" mode

maybe the new MM'd sequence will be OK for EDLs??

just guessing...

So this is what I did. I highlighted all the clips in my timeline, and right clicked timing information. Sure enough the trouble shots had "aux TC" listed in the TC column. I switched those back to Source, and everything's all good.

I really wonder why there isno timecode selection in the EDL export dialog? Really, this could cause some serious issues, and seems like a big oversight.

Problem solved though. For now.
