The program is complete, it has been graded in Color, all clip levels are broadcast safe. One of the transitions (vapor across) and some of the FCP generated text is not. Is it wise to now create a nested sequence and apply the broadcast safe filter to the entire program, just to be safe? Will doing that drop all levels (mid tones, etc) or just flatten the "over-bright peaks"?

Yup. It flattens the peaks. You can do that, which is overkill just to get the transitions, or can replace ALL those transitions that shoot over 100IRE. I have spent a lot of time doing that. And telling editors NOT to use Vapor Across, and get flash transitions that DO NOT go over 100 IRE...the Nattress glow dissolve is good. Because otherwise you nest then render AGAIN.

Avoid those transitions. Delete them from your toolbox!

>(vapor across)

Use Flashframe from the TMTS collection instead.

Any transition plugin that is out of broadcast safe is a pain to the eye.
