editing 24p on FCP 3

Hi,
I've been working on a problem and am as conused as ever. My gear: single 867 G4, FCP3, DSR-11 DVCAM deck

I shot some 24 p stuff on a dvx100b and want to edit in 24 p mode. However, cannot seem to find the setting for it in FCP 3.

Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks, M

ALSO: is 24p a MiniDV format or something else?

You need FCP 4 or higher to work with 24PA (advanced pulldown footage). But if the footage is regular 24p, it was recorded at 29.97 so using the DV/NTSC setting will do you fine.
