Solution for Intel/Power PC workstation

I am planning on upgrading my edit bay once the new Intel G5 desktop's are available. My plan is to use the Power PC machine I am currently working on as a graphics station and use the new Intel machine as my primary workstation. My question is, will this pose any serious problems (i.e. integration b/w Power PC Motion app and FCP Intle app)? Thanks for the input.

As long as they are same version number, no. (Motion is currently 2.1.2)

Everyone should get out of the habit of saying "Intel G5". The G5 is a CPU chip, which is being replaced in towers by the Intel CPU chip. No new Macs will be "G5" in any way.

Good idea to keep the G5 for graphics as Adobe still is... well you know what.

Upgrade to the latest FCP studio kit and you'll be fine. Some apps are either Intel or PowerPC for some reason, make sure it has the Universal Yin/Yang logo on it if you want to use it on both machines.

Universal just means it'll work on both CPUs at their native 'language' eg. it won't talk to the G5 in Intellish or to the Intel in Motoroli.

I didn't try out a PowerPC plug-in on an Intel machine yet so i can't tell how 'bad' that'll be.
