dsr-11 rewinds when playing

Hello.

I am logging NTSC DV footage (transferred from HD) on a DSR-11 deck. As I play the tape, the deck automatically starts to rewind for a few seconds every couple of minutes or so.

I've seen this, but I don't know the cause.

If anyone knows what causes this, I'd appreciate your feedback.

i'm working on a G5, FCP HD

just some additional information i'm discovering as i try to capture...

i believe the deck thinks it has reached the end of the tape every few minutes and starts to rewind,, making it impossible to capture.

thanks to anyone who has information about this.

there is a " AUTO REPEAT " button at the back of the little beast

it better be on "off"
