A little survey for my sanity:
Are all G-Raid drives as noisey as mine? Works great but the noises bum me out!

that is pretty much the ONLY consistent complaint about g-raids

The reason they are so good and reliable is that they are aluminum case cooled AND air cooled with a fan. Other bigger drive manufacturers use case cooled only and tend to lean to more drive failure.

I'll take noise over drive failure any day.

either that or/and when the weather is very hot we put big fans in the edit suite - they both help keep the client cool, the Harddrives cool, and disguise the sound the hard drives make!!

Yep - noisy - but reliable and so good I've got a lot of old firewire drives collecting dust on the desk next to them - they are our video workhorses!

Amen to that, brother! My G-Raid 320 is solid...though a teensy bit noisy in the fan department. I'll take a noisy fan over a dead drive anyday!!!
