Needed Files? Still True: DVCProHD Component 1.1 & Frame Rate Converter

We are working on an HD project using the Panasonic AJ-HD1200AP for playback and record. Footage was shot at 720 24p. We have captured via Firewire.

Having poked around a little I was referred to an article by Andrew Balis that was from 2005 and it mentions you need two files: DVCProHD Component 1.1 & Frame Rate Converter from Panasonic. My question is, with the latest FCP and OS do we still need these files to work smoothly?

Thanks,
Ben

The Frame rate converter is a free download from panasonic. You will need it for any slo-mo footage you shot. Also the footage on tape is actually 24p in a 60 stream so you need to extract the flagged frames.
