Sorry this if off topic, but there always seems to be someone on LAFCUG who can help with almost anything.

My option key isn't working.

Do I have to buy a new keyboard, or is there a reasonably easy fix/cleaning method?

Many thanks.

The keys can be removed, but I've never seen dirt prevent a key from working. In my experience, it's generally electrical, so you might have to replace the keyboard after all.

Can you borrow another keyboard just to confirm that it's the keyboard, and not ... something else?

You've GOT to have your Option key.... without it... no key options!

Can't go back to your previous Marker, or make Swap edit, or place a quick Pen tool keyframe, or invoke Frameview or align effects or break that stereo pair... agh, I would go nuts.

You would have to send back your Power Placemat! Not acceptable.

Thank you both for your advice. Looks like a new keyboard.

Best
