long export time

I've got a 5 minute DV sequence, cuts only plus a few titles. I'm exporting for the web using quicktime conversion on the "broadband - high" setting. The export takes about 30-35 minutes. Seems like a long time, is that normal?

OSX 10.4.8
G5 Dual 2 ghz
2 GB RAM
500GB SATA raid

actually thats reasonably quick...

I am producing ten 2 1/2 hour DVD's. It took me about 35 hours to export DVD 1 using compressor. I am using a 2 ghz imac pre intel machine with 2 gigs RAM. Exporting time is killing me.

Question: Will a new MacPro be any faster? I have heard both yes and no but no real hard facts.
