Michael, my oldest trick from another system (DraCO!) was to go for 1/3 speed if at all possible. This way, without any special processing, all fields end up in the right place. Same for 1/5, 1/7, etcetera. I would then for a cleaner look double the 1/3 speed up, and offset by one frame, and composite one over the other at say 33% opacity. Worked like a charm, as long as that speed was good for the job.
