Need quick access to international symbol for NO graphicPosted by shelleyrae
Hi,
Does anyone know if somewhere in our pack of graphic goodies with Final Cut Studio we have access to the international symbol for "No" -- you know the red circle with the red slash through it -- like you see in "No Parking" "No Smoking" etc? I don't see one in LiveType or Motion. If not, are there any free plugins that offer this graphic? I'd appreciate quick response -- under deadline (what's new?) Thanks, Shelley Rae
Sounds like something you can create in Photoshop in two minutes!
If you gotta, you could do it in FCP with colour mattes and the Mask Shape filter. But this is definitely more a Photoshop job. Matte #1 (The ring) - Mask Shape 1: Oval Horizontal (about 80 per cent of Vertical) Vertical (whatever size you want) - Mask Shape 2: Oval Horizontal (80 per cent of this Vertical) Vertical (70-80 per cent of Vertical value on Mask Shape 1) Matte #2 (The cross bar) - Mask Shape: Rectangle Horizontal (same as Vertical value on Mask Shape 1) Vertical (however thick you want the cross bar to be) www.derekmok.com
why not just open up the character palette and choose something from there?
---- The Character Palette appears in the Input menu. The Input menu looks like a flag in the top-right corner of your menu bar. If you don't see the Input menu in the menu bar, open System Preferences and click International. Click Input Menu, then click the checkboxes next to Character Palette and "Show Input menu in menu bar." If an application is specifically designed to work with Mac OS X, you can choose Edit > Special Characters to open the Character Palette. (but not the pro apps) ---- open it up and browse till you see something you like. drag the character into a text generator and set yourself a big font size
Here Shelley:
It's quick 720x720 JPEG. Apply the "Screen" blending mode to get rid of the black & makes the red semi-transparent. Key out the black for a solid symbol. I would have made it for you sooner, but I didn't see your thread until just now. Next time, name the thread "OT: Need GRAFIX help" I betcha I made it faster than derek typed it - Joey When life gives you dilemmas...make dilemmanade.
