Help! - capture DVCPROHD and downconvert

This is sort of an emergency. I shot a short with CineAlta for a film competition and need a solution to this problem today! I captured 5 tapes HDCAM to FCP and wanted to use the DVCPROHD codec which didn't quite want to sync during capture. Looking at the AJA site (Kona 2) and it made some sugestions and I finally got it to capture. If that is the wrong codec to use, don't ask me to go back because our deadline is tonight. (I can do this later after submission)

So the footage looks fine but FCP says it is 1280X1080 at 60i. We need to downcovert to NTSC for the competition. Why does the ratio seem off and what is the best way to downconvert to NTSC letterbox and keep the image clean and undistorted?

Thanks, td

DVCPRO HD is an ANAMORPHIC format...squeezed vertically. This is normal.

How to output Letterboxed Standard Def? Your card should have that option in the AJA Control Panel. Or you can drop it into an 8-bit uncompressed SD timeline and render. But your best bet is to output via the card.
