compressing quicktimes

Hi all-

I have 8 bit uncompressed quicktimes I need to compress into DVC Pro 50 , maintaining as high quality as possible.

Any suggestions as to the best way to do this? Initial efforts were less than satisfying, so i must be doing something wrong.

Thanks!

Why don't you let us know what you tried so we don't offer advice that you've already done?

I am just guessing here but the reason to why you got bad results may be that you looked at the file in Quicktime.
DVCPRO has some distortion if viewed in QT due to the pixel aspect ration not being square.

Open the file in FCP and see if it is still not up to scratch.
