hdv - dvcprohd cross convert using kona card

one other quick question
using the kona3 or kona lh, converting hdv 1080 to dvcprohd 720. whent he card does the realtime capture/convert, is it going to center crop or letterbox the hdv footage, or is it able to shrink down the entire frame?

No cropping or letterboxing occurs. 1080 and 720 are both 16:9 formats. The entire frame size is reduced.

Can you actually capture 720p from 1080i HDV with the Kona?
I have tried with the BM and it only lets me capture DVCPROHD 1080i.
