Guys how do I transform a fcp quicktime file into a Quicktime file? How do I do this? How do I get that quicktime file onto a disk? DVD disk? can some one help me?
I need to take this file to my composer so he can compose some music for me , and he needs a quicktime file. radsurferdude1@yahoo.com
* Click on the FCP Quicktime File on your desktop
* Hit "Command/I" (Get Info) * Go down to "Open With" and select Quicktime * The Icon will change to a QT icon. * DO NOT click "Change All" unless you want all your FCP files to have QT Icons on them Use Toast to burn a Data CD / DVD (don't know how big your file is) or pick up a SanDisk USB Flash Drive (can't live without my 4 GB portable around my neck everyday - $38.28 brand new on Ebay) Peace Joey When life gives you dilemmas...make dilemmanade.
ok, one at a time now...
Guys how do I transform a fcp quicktime file into a Quicktime file? - select file, get info (right click> get info or apple i) - open with: choose QT How do I do this? - just told you How do I get that quicktime file onto a disk? DVD disk? - the usual way. i use toast, you might have another way can some one help me? - hope that helps.... I need to take this file to my composer so he can compose some music for me , and he needs a quicktime file. oh, now you tell me.... OK, seriously, those FCP exports with the FCP icon are pretty much QT files ewith a different icon. They will open in FCP if you double click on them but they can easily be opened in QT just by dragging and dropping on the QT app icon, or opening QT and file> open then navigate otherwise do what i described and here's another thng: if your composer doe0n'st have FCP installed, the files will appear as a simple QT file, and open in QT. and here's a very important thing: the QT movie you exported from FCP HAS TO BE SELF CONTAINED! otherwise it;s referencing media that WONT be on your composers system. hope that helps, nick
It may also be necessary (if he's on a PC) to have the file with the extension .mov
