Hi All

A friend of mine is going to get a Mac Book Pro --17 inch
for FCP

Do you know if there are any features that may be added soon-(3months)
to the Mac Book Pro that would be better to wait for --

Several different screens are offered --
which one do you Like ? --

Thanks--Jay--

A free pony is what I hear. Seriously, if you need it get it. No sense in waiting. The next version will always be better with more bells and whistles. Plus the new ones just came out a few weeks ago.

To add to this question, does anyone use those laptop coolers, and if you do, which one works well?

My iLap works pretty well. I have seen the gel coolers.
It's mostly about keeping air flow around the base.
Good Luck

Yep keeping them cool is a definate must - if you haven't got a cooler - even a telephone directory or pile of papers can absorb heat quickly and dissipate it away from the MBP.

TWO piles, one on each side would give you lots of air flow.
2 VHS boxes works well.
or 4 little feet, one on each corner.
