dropped frames

Hi,

I have been using FCP4 for some time now, however i have suddenly been having problems uploading.

It will at different points of the upload have 'drop frames', i have tried to change the 'capture setting' and 'user preference'. I have also tried to rewind the tape back & forth, incase it is the tape being tight. Basically i am confused now and can't do my work!!!!

Would it be a problem with the firewire wire im using? Or is there a logical reason?

My content is shot in 4:3 & 16:9 PAL

Thank you.

Tigerr

Could be many things but probably lack of HDD space is my first guess

? How big is your Capture HDD and how much free space do you have?

Ditto - I have just been mastering to tape with uncompressed 8 bit with a G RAID firewire 800 and it was dropping frames - I usually use an internal with no probs but firewire struggles. Phil

I have resolved the problem.....finally.

I upgraded my Mac OS X to version 10.4.10 instead of 10.4.9....i read that FCP4.5 have problems with older versions.

Thank you for the help.
