Best filter for audio issue

Hi,

I've been given DV interview footage but the audio level is way down. I used FCP gain filter to bump up the volume, voice pop filter to take out any resultant pops, and I still have a kind of low-grade "white noise" sound in the background, probably from having to increase the gain so much.

Aside from going into Soundtrack Pro and trying to isolate and remove the offensive background, is there an FCP filter/setting that might work? I tried high pass and low pass etc. but they don't do the trick.

Many thanks,

Paul

the soundtrack pro approach is the best and easiest way to go (outside of high-dollar, audio studio methods of course). WAY easy! search the FAQ. there are instructions there

Let us know how it came out. The object is to pass on ideas that work.
